Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 May 2026

Stoolio is a health & lifestyle app for logging bowel movements. The data you put in it is personal and, in many places, treated as sensitive health information. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Privacy is the default here, not a setting.

Who we are

Stoolio (“we”, “us”) operates the Stoolio web and mobile apps. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@stoolio.app.

Data we collect

  • Account details — when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo.
  • Your logs — the entries you create: Bristol type, rating, duration, optional notes, and timestamps.
  • Optional location — if you choose to attach a place to a log; used to mark whether a log was at a “sanctuary” (near your home).
  • Optional earnings settings — if you use the work-earnings feature, your salary input. This is private and never shown to anyone but you.
  • Diagnostics — limited error reports (via Sentry) to keep the app working. We do not put your health entries into these reports.

How we use it

To run the app: store and show your logs, calculate your stats, streaks, and trophies, and keep your account working. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.

Private by default

New logs are private to your account. Stoolio is built so that nothing is shared publicly unless you explicitly opt in to a future social feature. Your salary, if provided, is never displayed to other users.

No ads, no selling your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data, and we do not run advertising. We are a health & lifestyle product, not an ad network.

Service providers

We rely on a few processors to operate, and share only what each needs:

  • Google — sign-in.
  • Supabase — authentication and database.
  • Vercel — hosting the web app.
  • Railway — hosting the API.
  • Sentry — error monitoring.

Storage and security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database and transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Access to your records is restricted to your authenticated account.

Your rights

You can access and export your logs from within the app, and you can delete your account and associated data. To request deletion or a full export, contact privacy@stoolio.app.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations.

Children

Stoolio is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will revise the date above when we do, and notify you of material changes.

Note: Stoolio does not provide medical advice. Your logs are for personal awareness only and are not a diagnosis. This policy is a starting template and should be reviewed by a qualified professional before launch.
